Effective July 1st, The Royal Canadian Legion Coboconk Branch 519 has reduced fees for new members to $25 for the balance of 2005. Regular dues are $40. With 2005 being the Year of the Veteran, many more people have been asking about the benefits of being a Legion Member. In addition to receiving a FREE subscription to the Legion Magazine, there is a Benefit package of discounts just for Members and their families. In addition, children or grandchildren of members can apply for one of two $5000 scholarships for first year post-secondary education, and/or a $500 bursary from Dominion Command and Ladies Auxiliary during each year of post secondary. Members compete in sports such as darts, golf, cards, pool at the Branch level and possibly advance to Zone, District, Provincial and National levels.

Did you know you do not have to have a military connection in order to join the Royal Canadian Legion? If you are a Canadian citizen over 18 who supports the aims and objects of the Legion, you can apply to join Coboconk Branch 519 of the Royal Canadian Legion. The Royal Canadian Legion is unique in that we support veterans and Remembrance of the sacrifices made by our Armed Forces. Application Forms are available at the Coboconk Branch during business hours.
